Life Cycle of a crock

First: The product was made from the ‘ground-up’ by first beginning with a prototype that was found of a stoneware crock. The prototype was then taken to a stoneware mold maker and created at the time 3 custom-made molds in 3 sizes. We use only high quality liquid stoneware and create our crocks in a four step process. We do not buy our crocks, they are completely home made.

Next: The crocks are hand poured into the molds. After a drying process, hand sanding , and trimming to specifications the crocks are cleaned and painted.

Third: The crocks are then fired in a commercial kiln for the first time.

Fourth: The next step is to glaze each crock by hand in a detailed dipping process.

Fifth: Then the crocks are again fired for the second time and are ready for the detail work to be decaled. These decals are adhered to the stoneware and again fired to permeate the stoneware and thus set the decal permanently into the crock.

Last: The final phase of creating the Whatta Crock Stone Ware crock candle is to custom make the scent of each candle. We hand pour each and every candle and stir in the scent with a whip to infuse the wax completely.We make the crocks in four sizes Large, Large short, Medium and small. Our goal is to have a slow burning richly scented candles contained in beautiful Stone Ware Crocks that has a scent that can permeate a room.Other fine products we create are mugs, coasters, lampshades, glass pendents  baby bowls, Boo's burners and scent cups to accompany our crocks.
